Reference Line 4215 4-way Line Array System - Description
The 4215 is a new high value, high performance 4-way,
Active Line Array System. This unique dual element line array system
delivers the most cost effective high fidelity line array system available from
any manufacturer. Fidelity is the first and most important design
parameter of any ISP line array and the Reference Line 4215 is the first in a
series of true 4-way active line arrays from ISP Technologies. By using
band optimized drivers in 4 separate frequency bands we can deliver a new
standard in fidelity and high level performance.
The ISP Technologies Advantage -- The ISP Technologies engineering team has been designing cutting edge audio products for more than 20 years and our engineering technology meets or surpasses even the biggest and most established names in the speaker market. With over 20 patents issued for various audio signal-processing technologies, the engineering team of ISP Technologies has the leading edge in developing state of the art sound systems. ISP understands that the basic foundation to building your message is sound. Delivering extremely high performance sound with intelligibility, clarity and accurate uniform response at every seat, is the major goal of ISP Technologies. ISP’s major attention to detail in the midrange sets our speakers apart. Most sound systems simply cannot deliver ruler flat frequency response in the midrange due to a number of shortcomings such as using a large woofer to reproduce both the lows and mid-frequencies at high sound pressure levels. The paper cone speaker simply cannot deliver crisp clear midrange response while reproducing high power lows due to cone breakup and inter-modulation distortion. However, because of our unique cabinet and engineering design, ISP can deliver both ruler flat response and the critical midrange required to achieve high fidelity in a high SPL system. ISP has developed the proprietary LINESIM (TM) computer design program LINESIM is mathematical speaker modeling, analysis and design software that was more than a year in development. Unlike most contractors or music dealers who may use a common computer program to input the dimensions of a room and use this information to sell the best fit from the inventory they have, using LINESIM, ISP actually optimizes the design of a custom speaker system that has been specifically designed for the individual room. Larger rooms require more speakers in order to deliver the required SPL level. This causes a problem in that multiple speakers equals multiple sound sources delivering multiple sound waves that interact causing radical changes in the frequency response at different angles from the speakers. This is where ISP Technologies has the advantage over all of the competition with its proprietary LINESIM software. All ISP Technologies Line Array designs are developed using LINESIM thus providing a new level of precision and high fidelity sound. This ensures a design with proper pattern coverage, system dispersion and high SPL performance without any system response errors. Since ISP is the manufacturer we can deliver a custom designed Line Array system using LINESIM to provide the highest level of performance for your venue and at a cost less than any sound contractor optimized system. We offer this service directly to Houses of Worship or through our ISP approved contractors only. Not all speakers are created equal ISP Technologies offers a unique solution to the problem of flown, high quality sound reinforcement speakers in small to large Houses of Worship, School Auditoriums, or any room from 100 to 3000 plus seats. Our analysis shows that for most cases of flown speakers, a 60-degree or more vertical pattern coverage is needed to cover from the first row to the last. Conventional speakers typically offer a vertical coverage of only 40 degrees, and a horizontal coverage of 90 degrees. And this is only at some limited high frequency range. A big chunk of the midrange is usually handled by a 15 or 12-inch cone speaker, which starts to beam at these frequencies, limiting the horizontal coverage to less than 90 degrees in this range. At the crossover between the large cone driver and the high frequency horn, the large spacing between their centers means that the vertical coverage has a big dip in the response around the crossover frequency at small angles off center. The result is uneven coverage, especially right in the middle of the voice range. Adding more boxes to try to achieve more coverage only makes the problem worse, since almost all conventional boxes do not ‘array’ together properly, giving rise to comb filtering (severe peaks and dips spaced throughout the frequency response) and a serious loss of clarity. The ISP Technologies Reference Line series speakers offer a better solution. They place line array technology within the reach of any venue, while achieving coverage’s that range from 60 degrees vertical x 90 degrees horizontal, up to 70 degrees vertical x 120 degrees horizontal. Our line array technology is more affordable because all speakers are within one cabinet, requiring only one set of flying hardware. This also allows the individual components to mount physically closer together, which greatly improves the summation in each frequency band. Second, each sub-box (or cell) provides wider vertical coverage than standard line array boxes, requiring fewer cells. Third, our high current DCAT amplifiers are specially built for our systems to further reduce cost, since one amplifier module can provide 3 frequency bands of amplification plus amplification (used in our new LT series), a configuration we call TRIPOWER.

Reference Line 4215 A True 4-Way System:
The Reference Line 4215 is the only true 4-way system available. By dividing the input signal into 4 separate frequency bands with individual optimized drivers and amplifiers we solve the problems associated with other line array systems. Our larger systems can be custom designed and configured for optimum performance in your room. The cabinets are of very sophisticated design and the quality construction features 13 ply Baltic birch plywood and dadoed joints. The REFERENCE LINE 4215 is a true 4-way line array box. An outstanding value for rooms of 500 to 2000 seats. Why 4-way? The dual 15” woofers provide a warmth and weight to the sound that other small line array systems cannot achieve. The four 8” drivers perfectly handle the upper bass/lower midrange. The two 4” compression midrange drivers provide complete clarity for voice and instruments and the two 1.75” high frequency drivers provide sweet, extended highs. The REFERENCE LINE 4215 provides 120 degree horizontal by 65-degree vertical coverage. One final yet we feel critical attention to detail; all custom Reference Line 4215 systems ship with mirror image line array cabinets. This means that you actually get phantom center imaging with the ISP line array systems. No other company delivers this level of detail except ISP.
