Deftones Rock Out With ISP Vector SL’s

Recently, the Deftones, who have been praised as one of the more innovative and unique rock bands in recent years, contacted ISP Technologies regarding the Vector SL Guitar Subwoofers. They heard about them from Fear Factory’s Christian Wolbers, who tours with four of these amazing cabinets.

While out of the country, Christian loaned Stephen Carpenter, guitarist for the Deftones, 2 of his Vector SL’s.  After using the Vector SL Active Guitar Subwoofer with its’ innovative, novel line array geometry and the patent pending D-CAT Dynamic Current Amplifier powering a 400-watt, 4-inch voice coil and 15” woofer, Stephen couldn’t give them up.

“We can’t live without them!  We gotta have them!”  said Linus, guitar tech for Stephen, when he called ISP to order 4 of the cabinets. We were happy to oblige and sent 4 cabinets out.  After receiving his Vector SL’s, Stephen told us “these subs make having cabs on stage worth something again. yes!!!! monitors? what monitors?”    Thanks, Stephen, we really appreciate the vote of confidence!

Why are so many artists interested in the Vector SL?  The Vector SL Active Guitar Subwoofer, conceptualized with Steve Lukather, is a cabinet that is high on innovation, incorporating novel Line Array geometry and the patent pending D-CAT™ Dynamic Current Amplifier Technology powering a 400-watt, 4-inch voice coil, 15” woofer. With two 12” guitar speakers in vertical Line Array geometry, ISP solves the problem of horizontal dispersion. A typical 4x12 guitar cabinet delivers poor bass response but the high frequency response also beams like a flashlight. Directly in front, your ears get shredded yet, move slightly off center and you lose all the high frequencies. The Vector SL cabinet solves this problem through use of Line Array geometry providing excellent off axis dispersion at the higher frequencies. The Vector SL Cabinet is flat all the way down to 50Hz, delivering enough low-end bass to match the frequency response of any 7-string guitar. Tune down as far as you want and the Vector SL continues to perform. The Vector SL cabinet can also be used with any existing amplifier. To all this performance add three-way power amplifier protection and you have the most reliable active guitar system ever made. The Vector SLs’ internal D-CAT amplifier has global thermal protection, thermal protection built in the power transformer, and an on board distortion limiter circuit to eliminate the possibility of feeding square waves to the woofer. This means that, as long and hard as you drive the Vector SL, even to its’ maximum limits, you never have to worry about failures.  Check it out in booth 1519 at Summer NAMM in Austin!
